The World Archaeological Congress wishes to extend sympathy to our Japanese colleagues and to all people of Japan who have been affected by the recent disaster caused by the earthquake, tsunami and the consequent explosions of the nuclear plant. We are greatly saddened by the loss of life and destruction. The WAC Inter-Congress held in Osaka in 2006 gave many WAC members a chance to visit Japan and become friends with Japanese archaeologists. We hope that our Japanese friends know that our thoughts are with them now and in the coming days. |
